AFC SOUTH CHAMPIONS

Jaguars Safety, Rayshawn Jenkins, wears #2 which also matches the number of games he’s directly contributed to the Jaguars winning this season.

The energy felt in Duval County leading up to Saturday night’s win or go home game was palpable. You could feel it everywhere in the County, but no place more than at “The Bank”. The atmosphere was absolutely electric in the sold out stadium. As a lifelong Jags fan, that energy was naturally also a bit unnerving. The scars of the last two decades of the Jags and Titans rivalry runs deep. The Jaguars finished the 1998-99 season as the #1 seed in the AFC, going 14-2 in the regular season. Both losses? The Tennessee Titans. After sending Dan Marino into retirement with a 62-7 demolition in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs, the Jaguars once again faced the Titans in the AFC Championship Game. Jags fans know all too well what happens next. The Jags lost making the Titans their only losses all season. Since then, it’s been pain, anguish and just plain hatred for the division rival up north. Everyone knew what Saturday night’s game meant. A win or go home matchup between bitter rivals, and for the Jags, a chance to write a new chapter by leaving the scars of 1999 behind. The game went by like a blur for me shooting on the field. A few key moments stand out, but none more than capturing Jaguars Safety, Rayshawn Jenkins, come across on a blitz and forcing a sack fumble on Titans QB, Josh Dobbs. The ball launched forward right to Josh Allen who returned it for the game winning touchdown. The roars erupting from the crowd was deafening. A few minutes later, the energy erupted again and pure elation as the clock hit 0:00 and the Jaguars punched their ticket to the playoffs. “DUUUUUUUUVAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!”
