"OWN IT" - 2021 Jaguars Training Camp
“OWN IT” - A phrase you’ll notice plastered all over the practice fields for the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’s become a mantra for the culture that new head coach Urban Meyer has been instilling into this young team. I had a chance to shoot two of the Jags Training Camp practices on behalf of Jacksonville Magazine where I got to witness some of this new culture being built - winners and losers being called out by a coach on the PA speaker during 1 on 1 drills, Urban addressing the team with a tirade of colorful language about losing being unacceptable, and both rookies and veteran players alike buying into the competitive intensity of their new head coach. I have to admit, as a Jags fan I’ve become used to being extremely skeptical and cautiously optimistic about a new season’s outlook. But I also recognize that the intensity of both practices I attended were lightyears beyond anything I witnessed in the Mike Mularkey, Gus Bradley and Doug Marrone led teams of past. Anyways, enough of my opinions as a fan, below is a gallery of many of the shots I captured during the practices! I’m stoked to have had the opportunity and looking forward to being back on the sidelines again this season!
